The SafeForce™ Driving System...

• Improves Patient Care
• Prevents Crashes
• Reduces Fleet Maintenance Costs
• Serves As On-Going Driver Training Program

. . . The Road Safety SafeForce™ Driving System encourages drivers to become part of the solution, rather than feeling they are a victim of the process.

The RS-3000 SafeForce™ System monitors and records unsafe vehicle operating parameters such as speeding and high vehicle g-forces caused by rapid accelerations, hard decelerations and high speed turns. The system provides an audible warning as the driver approaches an unsafe condition, allowing sufficient time to take corrective action before a crash occurs. If a driver ignores system warnings, an exception report is created so management may take corrective action. The system also creates database reports ranking driver performance. These reports encourage competition between groups of drivers to drive safely, without excessive vehicle forces. This interactive SafeForce™ training approach is a sure fire way to prevent crashes and drastically reduce fleet maintenance costs.

Our SafeForce™ Driving System was developed over the last several years in numerous ambulance fleets across North America. Thanks to this experience, including valuable input from field management and paramedics in these fleets, we have reached what we call "product maturity". Our system is effective, easy to manage and addresses the numerous scenarios that can only be learned through time and attention to detail. This includes event reporting of incidents such as unsafe backing, driving without the seat belt fastened, unauthorized entry of the drug box, driving with the emergency brake on, low idle speed with emergency lights on, system tampering, improper vehicle shut-down leading to premature turbo failure and many other real life occurrences. We believe our advanced RS-3000 On-Board Computer Systems will pay for themselves in less than two years. This is not just talk. We have proven this statement in fleets just like yours.

SafeForce™ Driving Improves Patient Care

. . . SafeForce™ driving ensures a suitable environment for administering aid to patients being transported.

Road Safety adds value to your non-emergency and emergency patient transportation services. The SafeForce™ driving technique ensures a smooth and stable environment allowing proper patient treatment during transport. Using our system demonstrates that care and safety of the public being served is your top priority.

Road Safety can be the deciding factor when marketing your services, for both emergency service contracts and HMO scheduled non-emergency transports. Road Safety reports also document your outstanding patient care and response times provided to current customers.

SafeForce™ Driving Prevents Crashes

. . . The prevention of just one catastrophic crash can more than pay for the cost of our system in your entire fleet.

Our system doesn't just document why a crash occurred, it helps prevent the crash from happening in the first place! Immediate audible feedback warns drivers of excessive forces (due to hard cornering , for example) and over speeds. Drivers have the opportunity and incentive to correct their mistake before it results in a crash. Our exception reports are an early predictor of driver deficiencies. This enables you to correct poor driving habits, practices and attitudes before they lead to a serious crash. We are convinced our SafeForce™ Driving System will immediately improve the safety of your employees and the public they serve. Naturally, this has the added benefit of drastically reducing your insurance costs.

Some drivers report stress and fatigue are greatly reduced with the SafeForce™ Driving System. For the first time they have clear and understandable vehicle operating parameters from management, and immediate feedback as to how they are performing.

Management also gets to see the driver's performance. Road Safety's Driver Grading Summary Report is the perfect tool for supporting an employee incentive or disciplinary program. This report includes total performance for each driver. For ambulance, police and fire vehicles, we also give you the ability to see how the driver's performance may vary during emergency and non-emergency situations.

SafeForce™ Driving Reduces Fleet Maintenance Costs

. . . SafeForce™ driving drastically reduces fleet maintenance and operating costs.

Just as significantly, when your mechanics aren't spending the majority of their time on unnecessary repairs, they have more time to keep up with their scheduled maintenance duties. This further reduces your costs and guarantees safer fleet operations. The Road Safety System software also has a maintenance tracking feature. It tracks maintenance services based on mileage, date, engine hour or any combination of the three. We also alert you when a service becomes overdue.

Customers report that the SafeForce™ driving system pays for itself on average within 8 to 24 months, in savings from reduced maintenance costs alone.

A maintenance work sheet developed for one of our clients from information given to us from their ambulance fleet manager, identifies the types of savings available (example available). He estimated that annual maintenance savings for his fleet averaged $1,364.71 per vehicle, and the fuel savings per vehicle were anywhere between $300.00 and $1,380.00 after installation of our system. Although vehicle downtime during maintenance and repairs is costly for any fleet, it was not included in this work sheet.

Also, the life expectancy of the ambulance units in this report is 5 years. However, it is important to note the durability and modularity of the Road Safety components allow you to transfer the system to replacement ambulance units, so your investment in equipment continues to pay for itself well into the future.

SafeForce™ Driving Serves As On-Going Driver Training Program

. . . Road Safety reports and driver feedback systems were designed to support your driver training program.

Road Safety also offers EVOC (Emergency Vehicle Operator Course) "train the trainer" programs in Camarillo, California, Bloomington, Indiana and Battle Creek, Michigan. On site training is also available at your facilities in your vehicles. The immediate audible feedback the system provides continues the training process even in the absence of the instructor.

Optional Systems

. . . The Road Safety System can be configured to satisfy your changing needs.

Road Safety will interface to Global Positioning Systems (GPS), Automatic Vehicle Location Systems (AVL), Computer Aided Dispatch Systems (CAD), Video Systems, VHF and UHF Radio Systems and almost any other system that utilizes RS-232 serial communications. Road Safety provides the necessary "front end" hardware and software, or we will interface to your existing hardware. We will be happy to discuss your special system needs and requirements. Since our On-Board Computer System is designed to be modular in both software and hardware, your system can be easily upgraded at any time in the future as your needs change.
